Ruby Shoes

This is for the Junior DT for which the topic was
Transport.
This topic made me think but then my eyes fell upon the book
The Wizard Of Oz. This inspired this tag because
Dorothy travelled home in the end by her ruby shoes. Which was her form of transport.

Hope you like my tag to see more
transport crafts go to

Navigate

This tag is inspired by a map.
To do this first I cut out a tag on a map and then cut out a globe and screwed it up to
give it a vintage affect.

Hope you like it.

Dew Web

This was for the Crafty Boots Junior DT blog.
The theme was Halloween.

The thing I did was a web with beads on to represent the dew.
This linked to the theme because spiders are associated with Halloween and a spiders web looks nice when rain or something has been caught on the silk.

Decopatch Time

I was in a Decopatch Mood and I Decopatched  3 things. A frame, pencil pot and a mask.

For the pencil pot I choose to do it in  mosaic tissue paper.

For the frame I used a patterned tissue paper.

And for the mask used different tissue papers from
my past Decopatchs.

Hunger Tribute

This is a card, inspired by my favourite book, THE HUNGER GAMES.
with just a bit of distress ink and printing ink, card, gel pen, glossy accents
ribbon and stickles you can make something that is simple but effective.

rolled newspaper

This is for the junior DT for which the theme was
Something Recycled.

To do this wall hanging, first I cut strips of newspaper(all different sizes) and rolled them up and to hold them in place stuck them with glue and left them to dry.
While they were drying I made sure that I had a spare strip left over that was doubled up so I
could separate it at the top.
Then in length order laid them out going down.
Starting from the top I glued them to each other. On the doubled over strip stick it together leaving folded over end. Carefully lifted the roll strip over onto the doubled over one and stuck it down.
At the top on the strip under the rolls twist the top carefully and tie a ribbon around at such a position that you can easily hang it up.

Black, Stripes and Glitter

This is for the junior DT for which the theme was
Bingo.

Out of the possible 7 element combinations I choose
Black
Stripes
Glitter.

To do this wall hanging, first I cut out 3 circles using the big shot out of card and the same with
butterfly paper from Tim Holtz paper stack Crowed Attic. Stick the circles together 1 card 1 butterfly paper.

Whilst that was drying I got a long strip of black paper and with a sliver pen and a ruler colour every other centimetre for 5mm. When the circles had dried I went round the butterflies with silver embossing powder and embossed. Then I went around the inside of the butterflies in glossy accents. Whilst that was drying I got a piece of ribbon and distressed it. Made it into a loop and using black thread put a stitch in.

The ends of the ribbon were glued to the back of the black strip. Evenly spacing the circles on the strip of card and put the glue on the strip and stick the circles.

Pyramid Holiday

This is for the Crafty Boots DT.
For this topic we choose to do
Holidays.
I choose to do a holiday mosaic of my favourite holiday destination.
First sketch the outline and sort the mosaic pieces in colours and place where you want. Go round and paint the back of the mosaic pieces with PVA, and stick down wait till dry. Then using fine grout go over the whole mosaic trying to scrap off the grout of the top but leave it between thepieces. leave to dry slightly for 20 minute and with a damp cloth wipe the surface. The next day do the same with the grout.

Hope you like my mosaic.

Schools Out

This is for the next Crafty boots junior DT.

The theme being
Schools Out

To do this I used the Stampaway collection die cut Stop Watch,  the Tim Holtz number masks were positioned and vintage photo applied.  Walnut Stain Distress Ink was applied  to the outside rim, and on the arms in gathered twigs. Bright orange pro marker was used around the edge in amethyst. The rim of the clock was stuck on the edge and arms positioned. Glossy accents was used to highlight the numbers and the arms.

The letters were die cut on the big shot using the Tim Holtz Carnivale die, highlighted with spiced marmalade distress ink and attached onto the stop watch using glossy accents.

Enjoy the summer holidays

Rio mask

This is a Decopatch I have done in the last few weeks.

I bought the template plus silver and gold tissue paper. The tissue paper was then ripped into bits of a reasonable size, using modgepodge to stick them on. To the left over glue I added gold glitter after the gold section and added another coat of glue (modgepodge) this adding sparkle. The same was done with the sliver.
With the copper sticklesI went around the split of the gold and sliver in dots. Turning the mask around so the semi-circles are at the bottom and again with the copper stickles go inside each semi-circle. Using the gold stickles from the middle arrow down and then on either side on those arrows down to the triangle.
With gold stickles again I went around the the circles,  then went around the eyes in copper.

Stickley Mood

I started this because I was in the mood to use stickles.

To do this card I got a flower shaped card and used the flower mask with Faded Jean distress ink.
Then using copper stickles and gold stickles going around the flowers.

crafting Olympics

This is for the crafty boots DT which I was really pleased to be chosen by Freya and Stephanie-Emma For our first theme we have chosen to do the Olympics.

To make this card I first cut out 5 globes with Tim Holtz movers and shapers using a Big Shot.
Inked the globes with the colours of the Olympic rings using distress ink. (The globes symbolising the Olympics bringing the world together through sport.)
Each globe was embossed with clear embossing powder, using the heat gun to get the full effect.
They were put to one side to cool.
I then started on the background, using a sponge dauber, worn lipstick and faded Jean I created the Union Jack. Using a small brush I painted a little bit of PVA on the side of the blue globe and stuck it onto the black and so on. These were then stuck onto the Union Jack.

Hope you like it!!

Go England

On Monday mum and I went to The Quad in Derby to make well dressings with 27th Derby Beavers.

This is the one I made with the Jubilee and Olympics in mind. The people running it set everything up ie,  the stones and trays of clay, and we were able to design our own Well Dressing.

First using half a chip shop chip fork to  mark out the design. I went around the design lines in black pepper corns and filled in using coloured fish tank stones packed close together. Around the edge it looked bare so I filled the space with flower petals.

Wonderful Dad

Happy fathers day to my wonderful dad.

This card is for fathers day. To do this card I embossed the card using a Tim Holtz embossing folder. Next, wild honey distress ink  was rubbed over the card.  A hear was cut out and embossed in gold embossing power and heated using a heat gun. The chipboard letters were positioned on either side and the middle letter on the heart.

flowers sparkle

This is a card that shows a technique I have recently learnt, the use of a mask.
First I placed the mask onto the card and rubbed over it in seedless preserve, in the centres of each flower I place a sequin and left to dry.

I am very proud of my first attempted of using a mask.

Sparkle And Shine

This is a card I made for fun.  I embossed the card using an embossing folder and my mums Big Shot.  The card was inked with worn lipstick distress ink to bring out the pattern and to add colour,  vintage photo distress ink was used around the edges.  Gold stickles were used to highlight  the dots and circles at the end of the swirls.
